I visited Free Range Pooches a couple of weeks ago and photographed their dogs. I was absolutely blown away by their dogs and the space they have created for them. They are so loved and well cared for. There are extensive 'dog parks' and fenced areas for the dogs to enjoy, with lots of space and enrichment that would put many boarding kennels to shame.
The dogs were all friendly, happy and healthy. Michelle and Chloe, you have been fabulous to work with and I will be recommending you to anyone wanting to add a Frenchie or Schnauzer to their family, I can't wait to add a free range pooch to mine!

Thank you so much Free range pooches for all your care and support with everything. When I purchased Remi, Chloe approached me to have one litter from her, and I didn’t hesitate as Chloe and Michelle were so great with the whole purchasing of Remi with dealing with all papers etc. I have now had one litter of 5 and Chloe has been the best mentor! She is so approachable and friendly it’s made the whole experience enjoyable and not scary every step of the way. Thanks so so much !!!!

From the first time I met my little friend my life has been the best and I’m very very happy.The breeders were there for all my questions and advice , updates, photos , more updates, more photos , they were fabulous.All I can say is the most beautiful wee boy came from the best and it shows as he is one healthy good crazy 😜 loveable little dude. Jimmy has holidays at the breeders when we go away and I no he is in the best environment and well looked after. He comes home happy and content , maybe just a wee bit tired from all the playing 🤣There is nothing to fault about these wonderful breeders or there compassionate dog breeding and handling skills.The best thing I did was sourcing out my to be breeders after reviewing around nationally and I sure received a wonderful Frenchie in deed!Yes I’m one of those Frenchie over protective Mummies, 🤣 but so is his Dad lol 😆 🤣🤣If you are thinking about expanding the family don’t go past these breeders as you won’t regret it I promise 👍

Chloe and Michelle of Free Range Pooches NZ have been very supportive and helpful to me and my wife Shay Shani ages before we even became their customers. They are very knowledgeable and helped us choose the right vets when we relocated back to New Zealand, as well as being there for us when things got bad with our previous Frenchie. We recently got Ernie, a new Frenchie pup from them He is absolutely amazing and we know wholeheartedly that they did a fantastic job bringing him up. I got my amazing wee man Max from Free Range Pooches (FRP) in Christchurch. I'm based in Havelock North, Hawke's Bay and so needed to have him fly to me. Given we'd just got out of lockdown there were restrictions on flights, so origional plan was to fly down meet him (& the team) and come back on same flight.
Since this could not happen FRP's sorted the transportation. I had updates the week running up till confirmation and in the morning got progress messages (& photos) till he was handed over at airport in Christchurch. I waited in Hawke's Bay and it was a simple as showing ID and they brought this little ball of fluff in his sturdy cage through to me.
What i recieved was a calm wee pup that once out of cage took in his surroundings and settled in car - out of cage for trip home.
The whole process for pup and new dad was simple, easy and very reasonably priced. I would have not issues in recommending FRP team and their transport company - effortless is a word I would use.
I had to trust both parties new they would take all care and they did - it was am amazing start to a life long journey for Max and my family.

Hi there, this is McKenzie – aka Mikki – and I am lucky enough to be a Free Range Pooches Dog. My hooman mum and dad love me and did so from the moment they got their 1st picture of me as a really really little baby from Michelle. There were lots of pictures of me playing with my siblings and the other cool dogs at Free Range Pooches as I grew so my mum and dad could see how well I was doing.
I was so well looked after and I was so socialised and happy from playing outside with all the other dogs and the hooman visits til I was big enough to come home. I’m supercool like my daddy, Rooney, and I’ve also got the attitude of my mummy, Poppet. When I came home I was already toilet trained and had lovely manners too!
I love my walks, toys, more toys, food but especially my chill time on my hooman dad’s knee (like in this picture). I have the best personality ever and love all my hooman mum’s grandchildren who come to play, especially when I get to snuggle up and sleep in their bed. My hooman mum and dad go to work and I’m so lucky cos lots of their friends drop their dogs over the fence to play for the day sometimes. I don’t mind that because that’s what it was like when I was at Free Range Pooches. I always greet my hooman mum and dad with a toy in my mouth and because I am so smoochy I have to shove it in their face too! My hooman mum and da say Free Range Pooches are AMAZING.
I can even sing with my brother but I’ve got the highest vocals.

We flew to CHCH to collect our Frenchie & hoping like hell someone was going to turn up and hand us a puppy! They delivered her on time, balling my eyes out with absolute love for this beautiful puppy they spent an hour with us to get to know us & go thru the handover.

When looking at breeders I asked around and Free Range Pooches came highly recommended by several people. They certainly lived up to their reputation! The communication and videos were such a treat to see while waiting to meet our puppy at 8 weeks old. We absolutely fell in love with him.
Mac was really well socialised, very relaxed around our kids and visitors to home and we were very impressed that he’d paw at the door to go outside for number two’s!

Our Mini Maggie is about to turn 1 year old. We got her at 10 weeks old. She already knew and responded to her name and knew the command for "wees". She was practically 'toilet' trained and has slept through the night most nights without a peep. She's an awesome pooch, we regularly get positive comments regarding her lovely, chilled nature. She loves to play with others, she's attentive, sassy and learns things easily. We see other Schnauzers and always ask "is yours a free range", there's quite the community. This weekend we are meeting up with Maggie's brothers, Diesel, Gus and Toby for a playdate on the beach for their first birthdays!
